Withdrawal from Bologna process: problems and prospects of higher education in Russia

This article discusses the Russian experience as a member of the Bologna process. The main arguments of opponents and supporters of Russia’s participation in the European Higher Education Area are presented in the article. The results that Russia has achieved in the field of science and education within Bologna process are also analyzed. The article contains an attempt to identify strengths and limitations of the Bologna process with regard to the Russian realities as well as an attempt to determine the possible outcomes and prospects for Russia after its withdrawal from Bologna process.
