ART THERAPY AS A MEANS OF CORRECTING AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IN YOUNGER SCHOOLCHILDREN
Abstract
TThe article discusses the theoretical issues of aggressive behavior of younger schoolchildren, namely their causes and forms of manifestations. This article also discusses the positive aspects of the use of art therapy in correctional and developmental work with children of primary school age, and also demonstrates the results of work with this category of children.
Relevance. The paper considers current methods of correcting aggressive behavior in younger schoolchildren using art therapy.
Problem, goal, tasks. The problem is that younger schoolchildren are increasingly showing aggression in behavior and despite the wide range of methods for correcting this behavior, not all of them are effective. The aim of the work is to show effective correction of aggressive behavior with the help of art therapy. Tasks: to reveal the theoretical aspect of aggressive behavior of primary school children; to substantiate the model of correction of aggressive behavior of younger schoolchildren through art therapy; to describe the stages, methods, research methods; to describe the art therapy program; analyze the results of the study before and after the program.
Materials and methods of research. The research materials were scientific sources. The research methods are a psychodiagnostic method and a formative experiment.
Results and their discussion. Aggressive behavior of younger schoolchildren can be corrected by creating the necessary and correct conditions using the necessary means, one of the effective means for correcting aggressive behavior is art therapy. Firstly, students do not turn on protective mechanisms (most of the younger students like to draw, sing, make applications), secondly, when using art therapy, there is the possibility of non-verbal contact, which is a very important aspect of the work (most of these children are closed, also do not realize their emotions), inThirdly, thanks to art therapy, students are mobilizing their creative potential and internal mechanisms of self-regulation.
Conclusion. Art therapy is an effective means of correcting not only the aggressive behavior of younger schoolchildren, but also the awareness of their emotions, behavior and the development of creative abilities.
